Goosebumps!Jan 27 2022
This project began with a simple observation: the sight of countless Koreans on the tube wearing identical black, long padded jackets.
Delving deeper into this phenomenon, I discovered that these jackets are typically made from goose down and polyester, with approximately 15 geese required to produce a single jacket. Additionally, the harvesting of goose down involves the often brutal plucking of feathers from these animals. To satirise the overwhelming prevalence of long padded jackets in Korea, I drew inspiration from the distinctive style of British artist David Shrigley, who is renowned for his witty and sarcastic approach to human interactions, which served as a fitting muse for my artistic commentary on this societal trend.
