This suspended installation reflects the ethereal nature of air, symbolising the decline in NO2 levels over time. Through this work, I aim to evoke hope and highlight the positive impact of proactive measures in reducing air pollution. Polystyrene balls connected with wire form the molecular structure of NO2, while spherical water beads represent pollutants or suspended particles in the air. The biodegradable nature of these materials underscores my commitment to eco-friendly practices. Using data from rural, urban, and roadside backgrounds, I calculated average NO2 values: 59.75 µg/m3 in 1990 is represented by 60 water beads, 32 beads for 2006, and 14 beads for 2020.
